A few weeks ago, I was asleep, and I presume I was in a deep sleep at about 2am in the morning. Suddenly, I woke up, and I sat up. Charcoal tumbled off me. It had hit me, the plotline of a novel inside a world that I had been sitting on for over a decade.

I don't like ranting online. Let's get that cleared up. But lately, I’ve been seeing something that really bothers me, and as someone who’s been writing fanfiction since the days of dancing to dial-up internet tones, I’ve got a few thoughts.

So, I want to tell you all a little story about a time when computers weren't really used for art or graphic design, and it was really strange for anyone even comprehend that they could or would be used in the magnitude that they are now.

Once upon a time, here in Adelaide there was a place called Glenside Hospital. I can remember walking it's decrepit, depressing halls...

I received another rejection from a publisher today.

But, I dolled myself up all pretty like, squared my shoulders, and marched through those doors, determined to find my seat!

When I was a little girl - about six years old - I had an imaginary land I would adventure too called 'A Land in the Clouds' ....

Last night I was an observer to a really great sci-fi story. Fully fleshed out characters, settings and plot all rolled into a dream.

I'm either going to be called super dedicated to one story or really crazy because I write myself into a loop trying to finish an epic quest

So, I have come upon a bit of a new quandary while writing Surge. As I sat at my café today writing the next instalment....

It became obvious rather quickly that Little Doc had performed the boarding process several times before and partook in it now....

So, the other day I was sitting down to write the next chapter of Surge and I suddenly realised that I had no idea of the internal structure

The sword hissed by Tyrin’s ear. With a twist he glided past the swing, allowing his bare foot-paws to carry him...

Well, here I am, geeking out about my own imaginary world. Where else to do that but my own blog I suppose.

Tyrin bounced eagerly down the long hallway towards the departure room. It was always a treat to visit the shipyards....

So a problem that actively arises from trying to remove oneself from the zeitgeist of the "online world" is that I don't get every side...

I thought that in light of the recent events surrounding the banning - or removal - of several of Dr. Seuss' books from publication...

Light glossed over a round bed and the tiny curled up figure therein.

I'm not sure if people really believe me when I tell them I've been writing the same story since I was a "little girl." But I have.

A book signing is a great occasion to celebrate.
