Speedpaint: Concept Art

I thought I would share with you all some of the work I did today on a little character in my new novel 'Rusted Hearts' - so here is a little speedpaint video. Magnet is a Rust Skitterling - a particularly annoying bug that can infest long-hauler spaceships, like the Rust Colossus (a colony class lugger). They're not usually a major problem, as they tend to consume the grit and the grime that builds up over generations, but they can become an issue if the infestation gets out of hand, or they get into the engines. They're known for altering their appearances and attributes depending on the alloys they're consuming, so, smart space sailors can usually tell where a skitterling colony has come from.

Magnet however - like Toyah and Liro - has found itself marooned on a planet, and has had to adapt to consuming new things.
